I am a 2026 Washington Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow in the Kelly lab at the University of Washington.
I completed my PhD in Quantitative Ecology and Resource Management (QERM) at the University of Washington as part of the Branch Lab.
I was a 2023 NMFS-Sea Grant Population and Ecosystem Dynamics Fellow.
I use mathematical and statistical models to understand the population dynamics of marine species. My focus is on using multiple data sources and creative quantitative techniques to overcome challenges in analyzing ecological data to answer questions related to human impacts and conservation. I work collaboratively with scientists at the University of Washington, the Northwest Fisheries Science Center (NOAA), and the International Whaling Commission. During my postdoc, I am modeling environmental DNA of phytoplankton in order to better monitor and predict harmful algal blooms (HABs). During my PhD, I used historical whaling data to answer long-standing questions about baleen whale demography and population status.
